Fluorescence spectrum of phenol vapour

Abstract

Investigations of the fluorescence spectra of polyatomic molecules in the vapour phase suffer from the obvious difficulty that a suitable exciting source is generally not available. For this reason the fluorescence spectra of a very few polyatomic molecules have been reported so far. In this direction attempts have been made by many workers to study the fluorescence spectra of monosubstituted benzenes using condensed sparks with different electrodes as suitable exciting sources.
