Abstract
A set of new mixed valence complexes of the type Na3[(edtaH)RuIIILFeII(CN)5], where L = pyz, bp, dmbp, etybp or tmbp, has been synthesized and characterized by physico-chemical methods. The kinetics of formation of these binuclear complexes were studied using a stopped-flow spectrophotometer. Electrochemical studies for these complexes show only a weak metal-metal interaction in the ground state. All these complexes, except the one incorporating tmbp, gave an MMCT band in the region 900> λ > 1000 nm and belong to the Robin-Day class II type.
