Abstract
The semiclassical N-atom Jaynes-Cummings model is known to exhibit chaotic behaviour. We have shown that in addition to the length of the Bloch vector, the first integral invariant, the non-RWA version of this model admits of another integral of motion which is an energy-like quantity. We have determined its global critical value above which the instability sets in the atom-field interaction described in terms of this model.
