Abstract
Reaction of various sulfoxides 9̅, with nitriles 10̅ in presence of trifluoroacetic anhydride and trifluoroacetic acid gave the corresponding amides 11̅ via a Ritter reaction on Pummerer intermediate derived from the sulfoxides.
