Abstract

1. The spontaneous nystagmus in the inner ear lesion manifest on eyes closure and more so with mental arithematic and this mental task not only exaggerate the spontaneous nystagmus but makes it more regular. 2. Direction of nystagmus is not helpful in localizing the side of lesion in the peripheral lesion. 3. The spontaneous nystagmus can be recorded with equal efficacy on eyes closure by Grass Polygraph machine by A.C. amplifier. 4. If the case suspected of inner ear lesion are tested only clinically without help of recording technique then the chances are very high in missing these cases.
