Abstract
The magnetic moments of the 3/2+ baryon resonances are calculated using the algebra of current components. The commutators are evaluated between 3/2+ states at rest, and all allowed particles and resonances at rest as used as intermediate states, including the 5/2+ octet observed recently. Relations are derived between the static magnetic moments and the charge distributions of the 3/2+ states, which are specially meaningful for the long-lived Ω−. It is found that the results do not agree with the static SU(6) predictions.
