Abstract
The heavy ion reaction 208Pb(16O,12C)212Po is treated as a direct one in which an α -particle initially bound to a 12C core is transferred to the ground and first excited state in 212Po. A semiclassical theory based on DWBA is used to calculate angular distributions. The results are compared with experiment.
