Abstract
The performance of indigenously produced, electrodeposited 63Ni sources having 10 mm × 10 mm active area and individually coupled to a plastic scintillator has been studied. TL phosphors such as CaF2, CaF2:Dy, CaF2:Tm, CaF2:Eu, TLD-100 and CaSO4:Dy with 63Ni have been studied for their possible use as check-light sources for testing TL readers. Stability at ambient temperatures (298-323 K), build-up and decrease of light output with time have been examined. A preliminary study of the fluorescent species in the gamma irradiated plastic scintillator has been made.
