Abstract
The existing data on the effect of temperature on solid particle erosion are rationalized in a qualitative fashion by means of the localization model for erosion. It is shown that the temperature dependence of the flow stress of the eroding material and the extent of variation in the strain hardening exponent with temperature largely determine the influence of temperature on erosion rate.
