Abstract
Positron lifetime and the Doppler broadened annihilation radiation lineshape parameter ,I, are observed to decrease as the temperature is lowered across the superconducting transition temperature of 90K. This is qualitatively understood in terms of the dimerisation of oxygen ions in the superconducting state of Y1Ba2Cu3O7-x.
