Abstract
The absorption and emission of 4-(N,N-dimethylamino)benzonitrile (DMABN) in a-cyclodextrine (α -CD) cavities is reported. The twisted intramolecular charge transfer emission is enhanced on complexation with α -CD. This is attributed to the reduced polarity of the CD environment.
