Abstract
A theoretical study of electrochemical electron transfer (ECET) using the diffusion-reaction equation approach is presented. The rate expression for the transfer of an electron from an ion in solution to the metal electrode is derived. The concept of adiabaticity as applied to ECET is looked into in the light of this approach.
