Abstract
A rapid and simple reverse-phase high performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed for the quantitative determination of asiaticoside, a pharmacologically active constituent from Centella asiatica. Using an octadecyl silane-packed column eluted with water (containing 1% trifluoroacetic acid):methanol (30:70, v/v), asiaticoside was well resolved from other constituents. These optimized analytical conditions allowed the determination of asiaticoside with a recovery of 97%.
