Abstract
Forty-five planktonic foraminiferal species and subspecies are recorded from the Middle Miocene Hut Bay Formation of Little Andaman Island, Bay of Bengal. Most of these are illustrated by scanning electron photomicrographs. The presence of the Globorotalia fohsi lobata- G. fohsi robusta plexus in association with the Globigerina druryi to G. nepenthes lineage in the Hut Bay Formation suggests that it correlates with the upper part of the Globorotalia fohsi lobata to the lower part of the Globorotalia fohsi robusta zones of Bolli (1957). It is also referable to Zone N. 12, to the uppermost part of Zone N. 13, or to the base of Zone N. 14 of Blow (1969), and to the G. fohsi lobata Zone of Jenkins and Orr (1972).
