Abstract

Cosmic ray produced 10Be has provided the most reliable method of determining growth rates of ferromanganese nodules/encrustations of age < ~15m.y. The uses of this parameter to understand the genesis resource potential of these deposits and for using recorders of palaeo-events are briefly described.
