Abstract

X-ray photoelectron spectra of several solid tin (IV) and tin (II) chelates with substituted 8-quinolinols have been recorded. An Sn 3d5/2 binding-energy range of 2.96eV is found. Qualitative analysis of the results shows that there seems to be no apparent correlation between the Sn 3d binding energy and the coordination numb.
