Abstract
The thermopower and electrical resistance of CeSn3, CeAl3, CeAl2 and CeIn3 are reported here as a function of pressure at room temperature. The thermopower curves of CeSn3, CeAl3 and CeAl2 exhibit maxima at about 25, 40 and 80 kbar respectively. These maxima are attributed to the occurence of continuous valence transitions of Ce ions in these compounds. No such transition is observed in CeIn3 in the pressure range of investigation.
