Abstract
We study some properties of supercharacters of superconformal field theories based on super Kac-Moody algebras and other superconformal algebras. These include modular invariant differential equations satisfied by these supercharacters and their contour integral representation. We also study a possible scheme of classification of supercharacters based on the modular invariant differential equation satisfied by them.
