Abstract
This paper presents a review of the space services applications relevant to various aspects of distress / disaster management, the existing and in making relevant international / national space system capabilites / services, and certain aspects that need consideration for wider international usage of space systems for improving distress / disaster management capabilities worldwide. The Indian initiatives in using space systems / services for distress / disaster management are also described.
