Abstract
Unusual regiochemistry in the nucleophilic reaction of substituted 2-C-formylglycals with phenols under Lewis acid catalysis leading to 3-C-arylhexoses is reported. Unusual C3 Arylation of 2-C formylglycal with phenol under Lewis acid catalysis is described.
