Abstract

Fifty patients undergoing open-heart surgery were studied. Twelve patients showed heparin rebound phenomenon in the postperfusion period and was one of the important factors responsible for bleeding after open-heart surgery. The clotting time came back to normal in all the cases after administration of extra pro-tamine.
