Abstract
Synthesis of serine from ethanolamine by carbon dioxide fixation is demonstrated to take place in presence of rat liver enzymes. The system is biotin-dependent. Serine deaminase activity but not that of serine decarboxylase is also reduced in biotin deficiency.
