Abstract
In this note we re-examine the question of the constraints imposed on the nuclear Hamiltonian to obtain a good overlap between the Hartree-Fock and exact shell-model solutions and the convergence of the iterative procedure of solving Hartree-Fock equations, using a simple model space and a model Hamiltonian which permits more extensive investigations than the one used by Harvey and Jensen. The role of an intruder state in the convergence as demonstrated by Harvey and Jensen is confirmed and the dependence on the energy of this state is studied in detail.
