Abstract
A separable potential model of alpha-nucleon interaction is proposed on lines similar to our earlier approach to p-p scattering. Only s- and p-wave interactions are considered. The parameters reproduce the s- and p-phase shifts quite well up to about 20 MeV. Both s- and p-wave interactions are attractive and as expected the spin-orbit potential is much smaller than the central potential. The attractive s-wave interaction predicts a bound He3 state as a 2-body system, in agreement with the findings of other authors.
