Abstract

A popular exposition of the analysis of a R-C phase-shift transistor oscillator is given using the general transformation methods. The maintenance and timing expressions of the oscillations are derived as relationships between the transistor parameters and circuit characteristics. Prediction of the limit of maximum attainable frequency with such an oscillator is also made from this analysis by considering the affect of collector-base capacitance and is compared with experimental results.
