Abstract
A considerable amount of work has been done on the study of horizontal drifts in the E-layer at high-latitude stations, the results of which were summarized by Briggs and Spencer. As there is practically no work done on this aspect at low-latitude stations, systematic measurements of E-region drifts were undertaken at Waltair (geogr. lat. 17° 43' N., geo.-mag. lat. 7.4°) from the beginning of the International Geophysical Year.
