Abstract

A crystalline compound melting at 197-8° and having the molecular formula C19H18O7 has been isolated from the roots of Pongamia glabra. It has been named kanugin. It is a neutral body having three methoxyl groups and it differs in its properties from karanjin, pongamol and rotenone.
