Abstract
Several new facilities now in position in low latitude zone (and special campaigns undertaken in recent years) are providing new information on the transport of ozone from stratosphere to troposphere and water vapour from troposphere to stratosphere, on the conditions of troposphere break, and on the different elements of dynamics-chemistry-radiation coupling in S-T region. These facilities include: the network of wind profilers and the MST/ST radars at Tirupati (India) and Chung-Li (Taiwan); and the special campaigns include the existing CEPEX campaign undertaken by Scripps Institude of Oceanography in March 1993 to test the "thermostat" concept of "supergreenhouse effect", the earlier oceanographic cruise campaign of Kley et al. in the Atlantic; the campaign on tropopause structure and on conditions of tropopause on ozone profiles with MST radar in Tirupati in January 1994.
