Abstract
The reactions of the organic-soluble (trimethylsilyl)arylaminosilanetriol RSi(OH)3 (R = (2,6-i-Pr2C6H3)NSiMe3) (1) with titanocene dichloride and zirconocene dichloride in dimethoxyethane as the solvent leads to the formation of acyclic and cyclic siloxanes [RSi(OH)2(OTiCp2Cl)] (2) and [RSi(OH)(OZrCp2)O]2 (3), respectively. The molecular structures of the new products 2 and 3 have been established by means of their analytical and spectral data. Further, in each case the solid-state structure of the compounds has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The EI mass spectral data reveal the presence of higher molecular weight compounds in the gas phase corresponding to the bicyclic or cubic structures of 2 and 3, respectively.
