Abstract
Double isopropoxides of niobium and tantalum with aluminium and gallium with general formulae, [MM' (OPri)8] and [MM'2(OPri)11] have been prepared by refluxing their isopropoxides in isopropanol in molar ratio 1:1 and 1:2. These are soluble in organic solvents and are distilled under reduced pressure. The mono derivatives are dimeric with considerable dissociation, while bis-products are monomeric in refluxing benzene. IR and in some cases NMR spectra have been reported and discussed.
