Abstract
Novel heterobimetallic isopropoxides of the types [MSn2Cl(OPri)9]2(A) and [MSn4(OPri)18](B) (M = Mg, Zn or Cd) have been synthesized by the reactions of MCl2 (M = Mg, Zn or Cd) with KSn2 (OPri)9 in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratios respectively. Derivatives [MSn2(OPri)10]2(C) (M = Cd) and [MAlSn2(OPri)13](D), where M = Zn, Cd or Mg have also been prepared by the equimolar reactions of A with KOPri or KAl(OPri)4 respectively. Further, the derivatives, [BaSn2(OPri)10] 2and [BaSn4(OPri)18] have been obtained by the reactions of barium with isopropyl alcohol in the presence of required molar ratios of Sn(OPri) 4 · PriOH.
