Abstract

To investigate the prevalence of anti-cardiolipin and antiendothelial cell antibodies in patients operated on for atherosclerotic peripheral vascular disease before 50 years of age. The hypothesis to be tested was whether antibodies associated with an immune/inflammatory damage to the vascular wall were associated also with early atherosclerosis.
