Abstract

Using the fact recently reported by Dalitz, that Λ-Λ interaction in 1S 0-state is about as attractive as the Λ-N interaction, possible binding of double Λ with light nuclei have been considered assuming the Dalitz and Downs parameters for Λ-nucleon forces. Calculations based upon variational techniques with a suitable trial wave function for the 3-body model of 6HeΛΛ and 5HeΛΛ show that these systems are bound. Further, it is indicated that even with a weakly repulsive Λ-Λ-potential, 6HeΛΛ is bound, in agreement with what Dalitz and Downs pointed out before. Finally, the use of the same trial wave function in the variation principle for Λ-Λ-nucleon system shows that Λ-Λ-nucleon bound system is unlikely with the present knowledge about the forces.
