Abstract
A Thomas-Fermi calculation in two spatial dimensions is performed for spinless fermions confined in an oscillator potential, and that interact via a statistical interaction. The nonlinear interpolation of the L=0 fermionic ground state to the bosonic end as a function of the interaction strength is studied. It is demonstrated that the method is well suited to study the energy, the angular momentum, and the spatial distribution of the mean magnetic field of the confined many-anyon system.
