Abstract
Unitary irreducible representations of the group SL(3, C) are obtained in an SU(3) basis. The principal nondegenerate and principal degenerate series of representations are considered, and the matrix elements of the generators are worked out by the use of expansion formulas expressing them as functions of the generators of the group SU(3) × T8. The forms of the Casimir operators of SL(3, C) and their values in these representations are also given.
