Abstract
A novel aromatic annelation leading to fused thioresorcinol dimethylethers has been developed by reacting cyclic α-oxoketene dithioacetals with propargylmagnesium bromide followed by treatment of the resulting carbinolacetals with borontrifluoride etherate in methanol.
