Abstract
Based on the assumption that thermodynamic and structural quantities of salts can be divided into contributions from neutral hard spheres and from Coulomb interactions an expression for the entropy of vaporization of fused salts is formulated. The theoretical results of the entropy of vaporization at the melting point are found to be in good agreement with experiment except in the case of lithium salts.
