Abstract

The interactions of particles in microemulsions are examined by calculating the long-wave limit structure function S(0) with a square-well potential in the mean spherical model approximation. We have also calculated the diffusion coefficient D using the square-well potential parameters. The two results are in good agreement with those previously obtained by light scattering techniques. There is also agreement with the observations made by Jansen, de Kruif and Vrij that there is an attraction when particles are dispersed in certain solvents.
