Abstract
A comprehensive study of the kinetics of the industrially important system of free radical bulk copolymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile, both at low and high conversions, is presented. The influence of gel effect on the kinetics, molecular weight distribution, cumulative composition distribution and the sequence length distribution of the SAN copolymer is examined. The study provides a fresh insight into the polymer structure and the influence of gel effect on the reactor behaviour.
