Abstract
Aspects related to the engineering of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) manufacture have been reviewed. Engineering data on mass transfer and mixing in mechanical surface generating devices have been provided. The current status on mathematical modelling of semibatch and continuous PET reactors is reviewed with clear indication of existing gaps. Aspects of molecular weight distribution during PET formation and melt blending have also been considered.
