Abstract

Excitation curves for the elastic scattering of O16by O16 have been taken with approximately 40 keV resolution in the bombarding energy range from 19 to 27 MeV. No significant resonant structure was observed confirming earlier work with a resolution of 250 keV. Techniques are described for the study of heavy ion reactions in a differentially pumped gas scattering chamber.
