Abstract

Supersymmetric models with preons in a pseudoreal representation of the hypercolor group GHC are considered. Anomaly-matching equations for the unbroken flavor group Gf yield a unique solution for a given GHC and Gf. With a suitable set of spectators, these solutions may be interpreted as grand unified theories having a specific number of generations. When the Gf and GHC representations of preons are chosen to have equal dimensions, a unique choice (Gf,GHC)=(SU(6)×U(1),Sp(6)) and three generations of fermions emerge.
