Abstract
Intensities of more than 30 vibration-rotation lines in the P-, Q-, and R-branch regions of the a2ν2 ← sν2 hot band of 14NH3 have been measured using a tunable diode laser operating in the region 860-1040 cm-1. For several of the transitions, measurements have been made both by the fast direct method and also by the equivalent width method. From the measured data a value of 0.274(5) has been derived for the transition dipole moment of the (1s|μ|2a)right-pointing angle bracket hot band. N2-broadening coefficients are also reported for a few selected transitions.
