Abstract
I derive two sum rules for the nontopological self-dual Chern-Simons vortices obtained recently by Jackiw, Lee and Weinberg. Using these sum rules I rigorously show that these nontopological vortices have a flux which is always greater than 4π/e. Further, using these sum rules, I analytically calculate the magnetic moment of these vortices.
