Abstract
We show that if the quarkonium confining potential generates spin forces via scalar exchange, then the P-wave charmed-bottom meson multiplet is almost degenerate. The hyperfine splittings for various non self-conjugate mesons have also been estimated. It is also shown that contrary to the recent claim of Schnitzer the F-type P-meson multiplet is not inverted.
