Abstract
A Simple method has been developed for the calculation of isothermal effectiveness factors under conditions of catalyst fouling. The method is based on the development of a differential equation for cumulative reactant concentration and then the application of either a direct or modified single-point collocation to the resulting equation. The validity of the method is established by comparison with the numerical solutions. The method is also applied to a more complex case incorporating the variations of effective diffusivity due to coke formation.
