Abstract
The Compton profile of Al has been obtained from the charge density using the locally averaged method of Lam and Platzman. The charge density of the crystal is constructed by superimposing the single site densities which are calculated self-consistently using embedded atom method. The resulting profile shows considerable improvement of free electron profile and the agreement with the experimental profile is good.
