Abstract
A novel cycloaromatization reaction leading to substituted ethyl 2-hydroxy-3-methylthiobenzoates 6̲ by condensation ∝-oxoketene dithioacetals 1̲ with excess of Reformatsky reagent 2̲ from ethyl bromoacetate through intermediate dienes 3 has been reported.
