Abstract
A new lignan, attenuol, isolated from Knema attenuata (Wall.) Warb., has been assigned structure on the basis of spectral data. Lignan and the stereoisomer (2-epiattenuol) have been synthesized and the structure assigned to attenuol has been confirmed.
