Abstract
An attempt is made to deduce the cross section for the production of DD- in proton-proton collisions from the experimental data on dilepton production. The mass spectrum of the dileptons resulting from the semileptonic decays of the DD- pair is studied in the fusion model of DD- production. An upper limit to the DD- production cross section is determined by comparing the dilepton mass spectrum to experimental data.
